Job Description

Techland seeks a UE5 Game Programmer for a new IP. Responsibilities include designing and implementing gameplay mechanics, creating and prototyping new systems, developing existing codebases, building tools for team members, collaborating with artists and designers, code optimization and debugging. The ideal candidate possesses proven game development experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, strong C++ and Blueprint skills, optimization and debugging expertise, and an understanding of vectors, matrices, and physics. Experience with FPP games, version control, and cross-platform development is crucial. The role involves contributing to a new IP alongside their established Dying Light and fantasy game projects.

Job Description

This position is for a new IP, in addition to Dying Light and the fantasy game.

Your daily tasks:

 

Design and implementation of gameplay mechanics in Techland's newest games, in particular:

  • Creating and prototyping new mechanics / systems.

  • Development of an already existing code base.

  • Creating systems and tools for other people on the team.

  • Co–operation with artists and designers.

  • Code optimization and debugging.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5. Proven experience in developing games. Familiarity with its tools, workflows, and Blueprints.

  • Very good knowledge of C++.

  • Very good knowledge of Blueprints.

  • Experience with optimizing game performance and debugging.

  • Understanding of vectors, matrices, and physics simulations.

  • Familiarity with version control systems.

  • Cross-platform experience.

  • Authentic passion for games as well as knowledge of the latest titles and trends, especially in FPP games.

  • Understanding of rules and problems connected with playability in FPP games.

  • Very good organization and time management skills.

  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Very good command of English.

Nice to have:

  • Computer science education.

  • Strong math skills.

  • Experience in multiplayer programming.

  • Experience in the design and implementation of AI systems.
