Job Description

Google Cloud seeks a Software Engineer for its ML Compiler team. The role involves profiling and analyzing compiled ML model performance, improving code generation within XLA GPU or Triton compilers, and participating in rotations addressing bugs, guiding external contributors, or integrating MLIR. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of software development experience with data structures/algorithms, along with 2 years in ML infrastructure (model deployment, evaluation, data processing). Preferred qualifications include 3 years of compiler optimization experience. The engineer will contribute to critical Google Cloud projects, with opportunities for team and project changes. The ideal candidate will be versatile, display leadership, and proactively tackle full-stack challenges.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
2+ years software development experience
2+ years ML infrastructure experience
Experience with data structures/algorithms
C++ software system development
Performance analysis of compiled ML models
Code generation improvement in XLA/Triton compilers

Good to have:

3+ years compiler optimization experience
Experience with MLIR

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical/quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms
2 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging)
Experience in developing software systems in modern C++

Preferred qualifications:

3 years of experience working on compiler optimization

Profile and analyze the performance of compiled ML models.
Improve code generation in the XLA GPU compiler or the Triton compiler.
Serve on rotations that triage bugs, guide Public Relations from external contributors, or integrate Multi-Level Intermediate Representation (MLIR) into Google.
