Summary
As a Senior/Staff+ Smart Contract Engineer at Ex Populus, you will work with AAA game-design veterans to build next-generation, fully on-chain games and ecosystems on Arbitrum's Xai L3. You'll architect smart contracts in Solidity and Stylus, implementing innovative, bespoke systems with no available references or templates. Responsibilities include designing and implementing games, DAPPs, and infrastructure for Web3 gaming, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and pushing the boundaries of on-chain capabilities. You will be involved in creating some of the largest and most ambitious smart contract ecosystems, utilizing cutting-edge EIPs and internally developed architectures.
Must have:
- 5+ years software engineering experience
- Advanced understanding of EVM and Solidity
- Experience with upgradable contracts (UUPS, Proxies, Diamonds)
- Experience with bespoke, non-standard smart contracts

Who is Ex Populus?

What Will I Be Doing?
- In this role, you can expect to work with AAA game-design veterans to create next-generation fully on-chain games and ecosystems that power fully autonomous worlds in Arbitrum’s first L3 ecosystem, Xai.
- Creating some of the largest and most ambitious smart contract ecosystems using cutting edge EIPs and internally manifested architectures.
- Architecting smart contracts in Solidity and Stylus to implement ideas and concepts that have never before been on chain. We are building bespoke systems in which no references, templates or standards are available.
- Designing and implementing games, DAPPs, and infrastructure that power the next era of web3 gaming
- Coordinating with highly talented teams in creating experiences that rival Web2 experiences
What are the Requirements?
- You are experienced as a senior engineer, tech lead, or staff+ software engineer in relevant Blockchain technologies.
- You have 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
- You have taken web3 products from ideation to production
- Advanced understanding of EVM environments and solidity.
- You can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game designers, artists, and other developers, to ensure the seamless integration of blockchain technology into gaming projects.
- You have experience building upgradable contracts via either UUPS, Transparent Proxies, and/or Diamonds
- You must be able to demonstrate that you have worked with non-standard, completely bespoke smart contracts.
