About the Role: We are looking for a candidate to join our Financial Services Strategy & Operations Team as a Senior Manager in Risk Modelling & Data Analytics. The successful candidate will be based in Hanoi.

The candidate is required to demonstrate a strong Risk Modelling & Data Analytics Consulting background with international consulting firms, an excellent business development mindset and strong leadership skills. Experience with global or regional banks in a Risk Modelling & Data Analytics executive position will be a great advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery of PwC consulting services to our banking clients in Risk Modelling & Data Analytics Services, including Credit Risk Modelling, Credit Early Warning System, Credit Portfolio Management, IFRS 9 model, and AI Model development/validation.
  • Providing subject matter to clients and the PwC Team. Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget, and managing clients’ expectations.
  • Leading multiple business development efforts for our business growth, including proposals, presentations, the mobilisation of a team for the pursuit, and managing client relationships.
  • Leading and growing a PwC team specialising in banking-related Risk Modelling & Data Analytics, including providing career coaching, guidance, and performance assessments.
  • Establishing a network of banking contacts in the area of Risk Modelling & Data Analytics.
  • Joining the PwC Vietnam Consulting Leadership Team in managing our PwC consulting business in Vietnam to achieve our strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative programme, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, etc. Business, Finance and Economics degrees with a strong quantitative focus and highly relevant working experience will be considered. Econometric focus and analysis will be considered a strong positive. A postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
  • At least seven years of working experience in credit risk modelling and management, consulting or risk vendor areas is necessary.
  • Experience in model development and/or validation for both Corporate and Retail Banking will be an added advantage. Having FRM or CFA is a plus.
  • Strong programming skills: Python, R Programming, SQL query and database familiarity; MS Office applications, including advanced spreadsheet and VBA. Knowledge of Core banking is a plus.
  • An analytical mind with sound business insight, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and a highly meticulous and self-motivated working style are essential.
  • We are looking for a self-starter, who is flexible with a proven ability to work well in teams, as well as being able to function with minimal supervision. People management experience is a plus.
  • The candidate must be a credible counterpart to business managers and senior management, and must have the ability to develop ongoing ‘trusted advisor’ relationships, based on the ability to understand, analyse, discuss and address key business challenges raised.
