We are looking for a Senior Manager, Analytics Platform to lead and elevate our Analytics Engineering team, driving the future of data tooling and infrastructure at WHOOP. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the Analytics data platform and leading major data initiatives that impact our entire organization. You will work closely with both technical and non-technical teams to ensure our data models provide a single source of truth and answer key business questions. As a leader, you will mentor and guide your team while partnering with leadership to enhance the data strategy at WHOOP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Own the WHOOP Analytics data model, partnering with analysts to ensure data is modeled to answer key business questions and serve as a single source of truth.
    • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to bridge business problems with technical solutions.
    • Hire, manage, coach, and lead a team of Analytics Engineers, driving high performance and career growth.
    • Partner with Analytics leadership and cross-functional teams to build and evolve the data strategy at WHOOP.
    • Work with Analytics and Data Engineering teams to expand data access, availability, and usability across the organization.
    • Define and enforce coding standards, documentation practices, and development processes (e.g., CI/CD, code reviews, testing requirements).
    • Lead large, strategic data projects spanning six months or more, impacting multiple teams and business outcomes.
    • Interface with senior leadership to design, plan, and execute strategic data initiatives.
    • Take ownership of data tooling, from data transformation and orchestration to reporting and reverse ETL.
    • Implement a vision for a centralized semantic model, ensuring consistency and accuracy of key metrics across the organization.
    • Mentor team members to grow both their technical skills and their ability to contribute to business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience).
    • 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data infrastructure, or a related field, with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
    • Proven experience managing teams and driving technical mentorship, with the ability to build and grow high-performing teams.
    • Expertise in data modeling, data engineering practices, and designing data systems for business impact.
    • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, tooling, and technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL processes, cloud data infrastructure, BI tools).
    • Ability to balance technical and business requirements, with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in interfacing with senior leadership.
    • Track record of leading large-scale data initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
