Job Description

This project focuses on integrating public cloud applications with the enterprise cloud of a major US healthcare company. The role involves migrating applications, adapting backend code (Java, Spring, Spring Boot) for cloud-native services, migrating databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), containerizing services for Kubernetes deployment, and addressing security vulnerabilities and implementing architectural enhancements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, and database migration. Experience with microservices and distributed systems is crucial. The work involves addressing security vulnerabilities and architectural enhancements within a large-scale system.

Project description

The primary objective of this project is to integrate 'public cloud' based applications with the enterprise cloud of a major healthcare company based in the United States. The scope of work will primarily focus on addressing security vulnerabilities and implementing architectural enhancements.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer who can help perform the migration of applications and adaptation of application to the private cloud:

Backend Adaptation: Modify backend code (Java, Spring, Spring Boot) to integrate with cloud-native services such as identity providers or managed secrets storage.

Database Migration Expertise: Assess and adjust database queries, schema, or connections to ensure compatibility with cloud-hosted databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

Containerization with Kubernetes: Containerize and optimize backend services for Kubernetes deployment in the cloud.

Skills

Must have

Must have: 1+ year of intense work with any cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Proficiency in Java development (5+ years);

Hands-on experience with any cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP) (2+ years)

Strong knowledge of Java language and Spring/Spring Boot;

Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture patterns;

Experience with distributed systems;

Good knowledge of SQL;

Familiar with microservice architecture patterns;

Familiar with Containers and Orchestration Systems (Kubernetes/PKS/OpenShift);

Experience with PostgreSQL/Oracle/SQL Server;

Adoption of Agile and DevOps culture;

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills;

Experience of work in distributed teams;

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

Experience with Python Language;

Familiarity with large-scale system migrations and modernization efforts;

Prior experience working in the healthcare services industry;

Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization in cloud environments.
