Job Description

This Senior Java Developer role involves developing and integrating Derivative Trading Applications for an international Investment Bank. Responsibilities include communicating with business stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical designs, implementing unit and integration tests, and documenting changes. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in enterprise development using Java/JDK 8+, expertise in OOP/OOD, and advanced SQL skills. Experience with message brokers, cache/in-memory data grids, REST/SOAP/gRPC, concurrency, and Spring Boot is essential. The role requires working on high-performance, distributed applications and involves collaborating with geo-distributed, asynchronous teams.

Must have:

6+ years Java/JDK 8+ enterprise development
OOP/OOD expertise
Advanced SQL & stored procedures
ETL process development
High-performance application development
Message brokers experience
Cache/In-memory data grids
REST/SOAP/gRPC expertise
Concurrency and multithreading
Spring Boot & Spring Actuator
Automated testing (TDD, BDD)
Excellent communication skills

Good to have:

DBA/SQL developer background

Project description

An international Investment Bank is enhancing its IT systems by introducing new technology and integrating with new third-party providers. Several projects will take place in the coming years, focusing on Trading, Market data, and Risk Management.

Responsibilities

Develop/integrate Derivative Trading Applications

Communicate with business stakeholders including Traders, Operations and Strats

Help to understand and translate business requirements into technical design specifications

Identify technology solutions for enhancements or new initiatives

Implement unit and integration test cases with industry standard test automation frameworks.

Document changes necessary to support business

Skills

Must have

6+ years of enterprise development experience (Java/JDK 8+)

Expertise in OOP/OOD

Excellent knowledge of relational database systems (SQL Server, Oracle)

Advanced SQL querying and scripting skills.

Ability to write and optimize complex stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.

Knowledge of indexing, partitioning, and other optimization strategies.

Experience in developing and managing ETL processes using tools like SSIS, Informatica, or Talend.

Experience developing High-Performance and Distributed Applications

Experience with Message Brokers (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar)

Experience with Cache/In-Memory Data Grids (Redis, Hazelcast, Ignite or similar)

Experience with REST/SOAP/gRPC

Expertise in concurrency and multithreading

Spring (including Spring Boot and Spring Boot Actuator)

Experience with automated testing (TDD, BDD, Mutation testing)

Experience working on geo-distributed and asynchronous teams

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

High level of self-organization and self-management

Nice to have

DBA/SQL developer background

Experience in Regulatory Reporting

Apache Camel
