Nasdaq, Global Technology, is seeking a highly capable Observability Manager, Senior Director, to lead our global observability team consisting of 8 engineers based in Vilnius, Bangalore and New York City. This senior leadership role demands a candidate who can craft and execute advanced observability strategies, enhance operational resilience, and lead process and practice improvements within the observability domain across all of our products and services.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead a distributed team of 8 observability engineers, ensuring dedication, professional growth, and alignment with company goals.
  • Develop and implement an innovative observability strategy that supports the organization's needs and growth objectives.
  • Ensure the effective use of key observability tools such as Splunk, DataDog, and OpenTelemetry to monitor, solve, and improve the performance of our systems.
  • Collaborate closely with the Infrastructure, Application Management, Software Engineering and Product teams to integrate observability practices into the SDLC.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and learning within the observability team.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in incident management, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
  • Prepare and present reports on observability metrics, trends, and insights to senior management and customers.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and methodologies in observability and DevOps.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, DevOps or software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of observability principles and practices in an enterprise setting.
  • Proficiency with cloud-native observability tools in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Expertise in using Splunk, DataDog or OpenTelemetry for monitoring and analytics.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing hard-working, diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with multi-functional teams and partners at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to work closely with teams in other locations.

Monthly salary (Before Taxes): 5800 - 7000 EUR (final salary will depend on candidate knowledge and experience), other bonuses apply.
