Job Description

As a Senior CAD Engineer, Hardware at Google Cloud, you'll be responsible for creating software solutions that improve the hardware design process through automation. You'll propose, design, and implement software automation that directly addresses bottlenecks in today's ASIC and SoC EDA flow. You'll also work directly with a hardware team on projects, prototype and deploy tools to make a positive impact on Google's chip hardware development process, and participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. You'll also review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms
5 years of experience building developer tools
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
1 year of experience with software design and architecture
Ability to write and understand SystemVerilog Register Transfer Level (RTL) code

Good to have:

5 years of industry experience with high performance, large-scale systems
Experience in chip design and related EDA tools and flows
Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution
Software test engineering
Understanding of object oriented programming and functional programming

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
5 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality, and code health (e.g., compilers, automated).
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

5 years of industry experience with high performance, large-scale systems, and debugging.
Experience in chip design and related EDA tools and flows.
Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
Understanding of object oriented programming and functional programming.
Ability to write and understand SystemVerilog Register Transfer Level (RTL) code.
