Job Description & Summary

The Sustainability Risk Services Manager is responsible for leading and managing sustainability consulting projects, developing strategic sustainability initiatives, and advising clients on integrating sustainability into their business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainability frameworks, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Client Engagement and Management:  Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their sustainability goals and challenges. 

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic advice and guidance on sustainability related matters. Identify new business opportunities and develop proposals for sustainability services. 

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage multiple sustainability projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Oversee project teams, providing direction, support, and mentorship to juniors. 

Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project outcomes. 

  • Strategy Development and Implementation: Work with clients to develop their sustainability strategies and action plans aligned with their business objectives. Support clients in the implementation of sustainability initiatives, including policy development, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement. Conduct materiality assessments and sustainability risk assessments to identify key issues and opportunities. 

  • Sustainability Reporting and Compliance: Guide clients in preparing sustainability reports in accordance with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, GRI Standards, SASB, TCFD Recommendation, CDP, and other relevant standards. Ensure clients comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in sustainability reporting. Analyze and interpret sustainability data, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. 

  • Thought Leadership and Advocacy: Stay current on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices. Represent the firm at industry conferences, events, and forums, sharing knowledge and promoting sustainability leadership. Develop thought leadership content, such as white papers, articles, and case studies, to advance the firm’s reputation in sustainability consulting. 

  • Team Development and Training: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the team’s capabilities in sustainability consulting and reporting. Recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.  

  • 5-7 years of experience in sustainability consulting, corporate sustainability, or related areas. 

  • Deep understanding of sustainability frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP). 

  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering high-quality sustainability solutions. 

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power Point). 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively. 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience with sustainability software and platforms. 

  • Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues and reporting. 

  • Familiarity with industry-specific sustainability challenges and opportunities. 

  • Certification in sustainability or related fields
