The Lucasfilm Creative Development team manages story development for live-action films and streaming series. This full-time, in-person internship in Burbank, CA, reports to the Director of Development. Responsibilities include reading and evaluating writing samples, assisting with organizational tasks (material logging), conducting research projects, writing coverage for writer/director materials, and collaborating on organizing external materials. The internship runs from June 2025 to August 2025, paying $22.00/hour with potential benefits.

About the Role & Program

The Lucasfilm Creative Development team leads all aspects of the development and management of story across live-action feature films and streaming television series. The team works closely with all departments across the company to ensure franchise continuity, marketability, merchandising, and the physical production of all our projects. If selected for this full-time, in-person internship in Burbank, CA, you will report to the Director of Development.

What You Will Do

Lucasfilm is currently seeking a motivated, meticulous, and trustworthy intern for Creative Development. Your day to day responsibilities may include:

  • Reading and evaluating incoming writing samples
  • Assisting with light organizational work to ensure the logging of materials is consistent across the entire live action slate.
  • Completing individual research projects as needed
  • Learning to write coverage for both writer and director materials
  • Collaborating with the team in organizing incoming external materials

Required Qualifications and Skills

Please apply if you have:

  • Excellent written communication skills required; including proficiency in writing, fact-checking and proofreading
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities
  • Strong time management with the ability to seamlessly multi-task and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • A proven track record working autonomously and in team settings with a positive, pro-active demeanor
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

It would also be great if you have:

  • An interest in film or series development, screenwriting, or trans-media creation,
  • Demonstrated creative sensibility
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the Star Wars galaxy, including the films, animated series, games, and books

Required Education

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Screenwriting , Media or related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025- August 2025.
  • Must provide own housing during the internship in the Burbank, CA area
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
