The Role

The Public Policy team at Netflix proactively advises the company on policy and regulatory matters. The team engages with governments and key stakeholders on a variety of issues that materially impact our business or our members, with the goal of setting Netflix up for success and growth around the world.

We are looking for a talented and experienced EU Public Policy Manager to join our EU Policy team for a 12-month period. The position reports to the Senior Director of EU Public Policy, is based in Brussels and will start mid-January 2025.

About the job

  • Identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, relevant news, and developments which may have an impact on Netflix.  

  • Work with cross-functional partners to strategically align on policy and broader business objectives.

  • Draft briefings for policy and business audiences; conduct research work to support Netflix’s policy advocacy; coordinate Netflix’s input into consultation processes and regulatory submissions as and when required.

  • Devise a broad array of initiatives and campaigns, including screenings, working in close collaboration with relevant teams internally.

  • Hold direct engagements with key policy, regulatory and industry stakeholders to support Netflix’s policy advocacy. 

  • Representing Netflix within trade bodies and at various external events.   

The ideal candidate will   

  • Hold at least a Bachelor or preferably a Master degree in Economics, Law, Political Science or a related field. 

  • Have at least 7 years work experience and a demonstrated track record with applicable sector regulations in the entertainment, media, and digital industry.

  • Have excellent communication skills as well as strong analytical, strategic and creative capabilities and judgment.

  • Have a strong network in Brussels. 

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence cross functional teams and partners in an agile, fast moving environment.

  • Be passionate, self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary.

  • Be a strategic thinker with strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize accordingly.
