Facebook is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The data center engineering team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure, and the Infrastructure Construction Management team is committed to continual optimization of the delivery process at each level. The Construction Manager will work within a larger leadership team of three onsite Campus Construction Manager (CCM) leads all reporting to an onsite Area Director to collaboratively deliver a mega AI enabling infrastructure campus of unprecedented scale (potentially greater than 2GW) and strategic importance to Meta. The scale mandates three GC’s onsite with a CCM lead and team assigned to each. Each CCM lead shall have area level responsibility for project success, GC relationship, team development and relationship management with key cross functional partners at the site.
Campus Construction Manager Responsibilities
  • Report to onsite Meta Area Director. Share accountability for project and campus success in: Safety, Quality, Schedule Milestones, Forecast Accuracy, GMP Accuracy in collaboration with 2 other Campus Construction Managers - each will be assigned to 1 of 3 GC's. In collaboration with other Campus Construction Managers, oversee and administer the GC Collaboration Agreement and the cooperation and coordination of each GC and supply chain scope of work to culminate in the delivery of one integrated project.
  • Assume accountability for DEC Delivery’s values in partnership, teamwork and growth within their team and in collaboration with Area Director and CCM leads at the campus
  • Recruit, manage and develop onsite team of direct report Construction Managers (both Full Time Employees and Contingent Workers) and matrixed reports specializing in Safety, Quality, Project Controls (Cost & Schedule)
  • Provide cost saving solutions and negotiate contractor change orders
  • Manage cross functional team for Owner Furnished Equipment procurement and delivery process
  • Provide weekly project status report (financial, schedule, Q/C)
  • Manage Knowledge capture and transfer at the campus level
  • Manage General Contractor relationship at the campus level to include GC personnel development and succession
  • Manage tenant improvement or retrofit work in a live data center environment
  • Manage warranty work program for existing data center buildings
  • 10% travel to headquarters
  • Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies
Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years experience in construction and project planning
