Job Description

This role is for a Calypso developer within a 12-person team providing CtB/RtB support for the bank's Calypso platform. Responsibilities include managing the Bank/Change the Bank function for Calypso, working in Agile development teams on backlog stories to develop, enhance, and customize the application, and assisting with strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Calypso APIs, Java (1.8+), UNIX, and SQL, and a solid understanding of Java concepts like OOP, Collections, and Multi-threading. The role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as the team is geographically dispersed. Experience with back-office processes (SWIFT, Settlements, CREs, Accounting), FX/MM products, and tools like Maven and Azure DevOps is a plus.

Must have:

5+ years Calypso development experience
Strong Java (1.8+) development skills
Understanding of Java core concepts (OOP, Collections, Multi-threading)
SQL querying and Calypso database knowledge
Agile development experience
Excellent communication skills

Good to have:

UNIX server knowledge
Understanding of back-office processes (SWIFT, Settlements, CREs, Accounting)
FX and MM product knowledge
Experience with Maven, Azure DevOps, or similar CI tools

Project description

Part of a 12-man team who provides CtB/RtB support for the Bank's Calypso platform. Specifically, this role is for a Calypso developer with a good understanding of Calypso APIs, JAVA, UNIX, and SQL.

Responsibilities

Run the Bank/Change the Bank function for the Calypso platform

Work in Agile development teams on backlog stories to develop/enhance/customize the Calypso application

Assist with strategic (bank) initiatives to develop capabilities

Skills

Must have

5+ years experience on Calypso as a developer

Strong hands-on experience in Java development, Java 1.8 and higher

Good understanding of key concepts in Java like OOPS concept, Collections, Multi-threading, etc.

Strong drive for Continuous learning and improvement

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a geographically dispersed team

Ability to write SQL queries and understand Calypso database tables

Nice to have

Basic understanding of UNIX servers and commands

Understanding of back office processes like SWIFT messages, Settlements, CREs, Accounting, etc.

Understanding of FX and MM products

Experience with tools like Maven, Azure DevOps, or other CI tools
