Job Description

Tesla is seeking a skilled Body Repair Painter to join its groundbreaking Body Repair Program in Eagle Farm. Responsibilities include high-quality spray application of primers, sealers, basecoats, and clear coats, achieving approximately 6 fully prepped ROs daily (various panel jobs). The role demands close collaboration with prep staff and other painters, precise basecoat color blending (2 and 3 stage colors), and proficiency with various hand and power tools. Candidates must possess 3+ years of experience in automotive collision repair using urethane-based systems, consistently producing flawless finishes without sanding/buffing. I-Car Australia certification and overtime flexibility are pluses. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship, aligning with Tesla's innovative and sustainable approach to automotive repair.

Must have:

3+ years auto refinishing experience
Urethane refinishing systems expertise
Flawless sprayed finishes (no sanding/buffing)
Teamwork & collaboration skills
Proficiency with tools & equipment

Good to have:

I-Car Australia certification
Overtime flexibility

What You’ll Do

High quality spray application of Primers, Sealers, Basecoats, and Clearcoats
Spraying approximately 6 (Fully Prepped) RO’s per day (2 Bumper, 1 - six panel jobs, 3 - Two to three panel jobs) in state-of-the-art Downdraft spray booths
Work closely with Prep Staff and other Painters to meet work demands as a team
Invisible basecoat colour blending
Application of 2 and 3 stage colours

What You’ll Bring

3+ years of experience refinishing cars in an automotive collision repair environment utilizing urethane based refinish systems
Able to produce sprayed finishes with little or no dirt and a consistent gloss and texture matching the OEM finish without the need to sand and buff
Willingness to work overtime if required
Any certification in I-Car Australia is a plus
Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures
Experience with operations and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment
Must be willing to train others
Must be comfortable working in a collision shop environment
