Senior Backend Engineer

The opportunity

As a key member of the Core team under Unity's Central Dashboard group, you will be instrumental in managing and maintaining the cross-tools and infrastructure for the entire Unity Ads group. Our primary objective is to provide an optimal user experience for customers using multiple Unity Grow products.

What you'll be doing

• Lead Platform Consolidation: Play a central role in the integration of Unity and IronSource platforms, implementing innovative solutions to enhance the platform.
• Manage Cross-Tools and Infrastructure: Oversee and maintain the tools and infrastructure that support the Unity Ads group, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Enhance User Authentication: Maintain and enhance the platform's user authentication systems, focusing on robustness and security.
• Revamp User Management: Take ownership of the existing user management flow, decoupling it from various teams to migrate and rebuild it for the entire Unity solution.
• Drive Innovation: Continuously seek out and implement cutting-edge solutions to improve the platform, keeping it ahead of industry standards.

What we're looking for

• Server-Side Development Experience: Proficiency in server-side development using modern programming languages such as JavaScript, Go, or Python.
• Deep knowledge and 4+ years of experience with Node.js are a must.
• High Communication Skills: Excellent English and the ability to work effectively with teams worldwide.
• Service-Oriented Architecture: Familiarity microservices, and Kubernetes (including Istio, ArgoCD, and GitOps). Complex Challenges and Design: Experience tackling complex challenges, making architectural trade-offs, and solving scalability issues.

You might also have

• Database Experience: Proficiency with both Relational and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, Singlestore, Mongo and Redis.
• Front-End Frameworks: Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. Familiarity with Micro FE architecture and framework-agnostic development is a plus.
