Retail Manager

The Retail Managers will lead the Store Managers of our three Trek direct owned stores located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. They will partner with the Store Managers to provide guidance on delivering outstanding hospitality, meeting all operating objectives, driving sales and financial goals, and holding them accountable to company policies and procedures. The Retail Manager is the leader with a mindset of continuous improvement and drive to make their employees wildly successful.

This position is for an individual who has multi-unit experience with the ability to leverage each unique store to address and solve wide opportunities.

The Retail Manager will build strong relationships with each store team with a focus on engaging and developing a bench for the next leaders within Trek. The goal of the Retail Manager is to empower each Store Manager to run a successful business that creates a Great Place to Work for their teams, customers, and community to “get more people on bike every day.”

The Retail Manager must understand the work that needs to be done to achieve store profitability. Whether it is through community building, promotional strategies that drive traffic to stores, developing internal employee skills, etc.

What you will experience on the job:

  • Actively work in the stores, rotating between them in such a way that allows you to get to know each member of the team, their skills and training needs.
  • Understanding the Monterrey cycling community. Cycling groups, local authorities, local events, competitors, etc.
  • Help maintain exemplary hospitality and uphold Trek standards within the stores
  • Train Store Managers and ensure all other members of their stores are up to date on training
  • Create and execute plans with their Store Managers to improve store and area performance
  • Analyze P&L results and trends to increase and maximize sales
  • Understand and partner to remove points of conflict in the service side of the business
  • Coach Store Managers to handle HR/performance related issues with personnel in their stores
  • Hold Store Manager’s accountable to controlling labor hours, recruiting, store budget, and inventory
  • Develop a bench of high performing leaders for succession planning and new store openings
  • Coordinate and organize the weekly rides schedule together with the store managers.
  • English language is required.

What you will bring to the job:

  • The location for this position is: Monterrey, NL.
  • 3+ years of multi-unit retail experience with a passion to change the world through bikes
  • Eventually will be asked to travel to Trek MX office in SLP, Mexico.
  • Must be available for overnight travel
  • Must have excellent relationship building skills
  • Must have exceptional organization, time management, and follow-up skills
  • Familiarity and knowledge of the area of the district is preferred
  • This job may require overtime or work outside of normal business hours, such as Sundays and holidays, at certain times.
  • This person is expected to have the ability to understand the needs of the business without having the boss on his back.
