Wooga is seeking a talented Game Writer to craft engaging stories for their free-to-play mobile games. You'll be responsible for creating compelling narratives, developing memorable characters, and integrating game mechanics into the storyline. Experience with interactive storytelling and writing for games is essential, along with a strong understanding of the mystery genre and female audience.

As our next Game Writer, you are skilled at building worlds, creating exciting story hooks, and bringing memorable characters to life in concise, clear, characterful dialogue. Furthermore, you get that a game’s story does not stop with the dialogue, but extends to the way the player experiences the game’s core fantasy as they interact with the game world, and you can integrate narrative into a game’s features and use game mechanics to reinforce storytelling and react to the player’s actions.
You understand your audience and can put on your “player hat” to ensure the story is fun to play. You know the limits and are excited by the opportunities of storytelling in the free-to-play space.
What you’ll be doing
<ul>
<li>Work&nbsp; within a writers’ room setting to create serialized stories for a free-to-play mobile audience that is primarily female</li>
<li>Write and rewrite story outlines, chapter scripts and other narrative materials while applying feedback on schedule</li>
<li>Work with art and design to ensure that every aspect of the game tells and reinforces the story and the player’s role in it</li>
<li>Work with product and marketing to understand the game’s audience and opportunities to reach them through storytelling</li>
<li>Contribute to the writing team’s creative operations, including some shared administrative and liaising tasks.</li>
<li>Give feedback to and mentor other writers</li>
</ul>
Who we are looking for
<ul>
<li>Experience telling interactive stories or writing for games, and integrating a game’s mechanics into the narrative</li>
<li>A proven ability to write distinct, concise dialogue and authentic characters as well as plot structured stories.</li>
<li>Knowledge of our games’ audiences and ability to craft commercial stories that appeal to them, particularly in the mystery genre</li>
<li>A capacity for communicating clearly, and taking and offering creative feedback with a candid but solutions-oriented approach</li>
<li>Fluent English skills</li>
<li>Ability to adapt style to match the project’s current tone and character voices&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<li>Writing samples should show an understanding of characterization, dramatic conflict and skill with dialogue</li>
