Responsibilities:

<li>Lead a team of developers in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable Java applications.</li>
<li>Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications.</li>
<li>Oversee the architecture and development of Java-based back-end systems using Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Batch).</li>
<li>Implement CI/CD processes and ensure code quality and integrity using GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, and related DevOps tools.</li>
<li>Work closely with QA teams to ensure comprehensive testing and validation of all software deliverables.</li>
<li>Mentor and guide junior developers to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.</li>
<li>Ensure all developed code is thoroughly documented and adheres to best practices and standards.</li>
<li>Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and improve team performance.</li>

Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li>
<li>Proven experience (5+ years) as a Java Developer, with at least 2 years in a lead role.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in Java (v8, v11, v17) and related frameworks: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Batch.</li>
<li>Experience with microservices architecture and development.</li>
<li>Familiarity with private cloud setups and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li>
<li>Strong communication and leadership skills.</li>
<li>Upper-Intermediate level of English.</li>

Skylo is hiring a Senior Software Backend Engineer to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This person will play a key role in creating and optimizing the Skylo SIM Provisioning Architecture, Implementation, and contribution toward platform cloud services and deployment. The right candidate will combine a depth of technical knowledge with a passion for creating best-in-class software infrastructure solutions. This role is located in Bangalore, India where we are onsite 3 days a week in the office. You will design and develop distributed application services, microservices, and components and scalable database systems. Implement Application Services for a highly scalable cloud-based software platform. Define, Design, and implement REST APIs. Build Swagger UI, Postman collection for APIs. Application development using Java/GoLang, GCP Pub/Sub, SQL DB, and Web hook integration. Integration with 3rd party application systems using REST api or/and messaging queues. Defining Component Test Scenarios and Test Cases, Component testing and Unit testing, Code Coverage and API test automation. Build and Deployment using Jira, Jenkin, GCR/GKE. Implement and enforce security best practices in both software development and deployment. Work cross-functionally with other teams to quickly iterate, deploy, streamline, enhance on features, design and components. What We Look For <ul><li>8+ years experience in professional software development using OOP and distributed microservices.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.</li><li>Programming capabilities with experience in Java or/and Go Language, preferably Java.</li><li>Experience in developing microservice using spring-boot framework or using go lang framework</li><li>Prior working experience in messaging broker such as Kafka or/and GCP Pub/Sub to build event driven microservices architecture and solutions</li><li>Excellent knowledge and implementation skills of data schema design and developing efficient SQL queries. Strong experience building services using SQL DB.</li><li>Working knowledge of stream processing systems and message queues like GCP pub-sub.</li><li>Experienced in REST API design and protocol design across different network layers.</li><li>Experience in building stable and scalable server components/features preferred.</li><li>Distributed systems knowledge for massive horizontal scaling.</li><li>Working experience on using Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkin pipeline and GCP</li><li>Should have quality focus with demonstrable skills using test frameworks.</li><li>Highly collaborative, with excellent communication skills. </li></ul>
