 We're looking for a talented and passionate Data Engineer to join Wildlife's Cloud Economics team in São Paulo, Brazil.
The mission of the Cloud Economics team at Wildlife is to have world-class productivity and efficiency across the company by finding and further investigating efficiency opportunities related to the usage and/or provisioning of technology resources.&nbsp;
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for gathering all the information needed into the data lake; build and maintain such a lake permanently. You will also play a key role in developing the analyses and algorithms that identify the patterns and type of usage of our data that allow us to find opportunities to improve its usage and storage.

<h2>What you’ll do</h2>
<ul>
<li>Be part of a high-output team, directly contributing to company results;</li>
<li>Build the required date lakes and do the corresponding ETL in order to be able to consolidate and query information about multiple data sources;</li>
<li>Enhance our data discovery capabilities;</li>
<li>Identify unused data and propose how to handle it (sampling, deletion, move to colder classes of storage);</li>
<li>Find and propose data modeling optimizations across the data lake to avoid inefficiencies like duplicated data, data normalization, data types, etc. (table partitioning, migrating to delta tables);</li>
<li>Develop an internal cost allocation data lake for our most significant technology providers.</li>
</ul>
<h2>What you'll need</h2>
<ul>
<li>University degree in courses related to computing such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field;</li>
<li>Solid experience working as a data engineer on technically challenging problems;</li>
<li>Proficiency in programming with SQL and Python;</li>
<li>Experience creating data pipelines;</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience with AWS;</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience with Airflow or other workflow management tool is a differential.</li>

Machine Learning: <ul><li>Apply machine learning techniques to optimize and personalize Telco product features. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into our products, ensuring seamless user experiences. </li><li>Data Modelling: Build and maintain robust data models (community detection) for Telco-specific datasets, considering scalability, efficiency, and accuracy. </li><li>Continuously evaluate and enhance existing models (Householding and Business Community detection) to improve predictive performance. </li></ul>
 Product Enhancement: <ul><li>Work closely with product managers to identify Telco market trends and customer needs, translating them into actionable data science projects. </li><li>Provide data-driven recommendations to improve product features, user engagement, and overall customer satisfaction. </li></ul>
Communication: <ul><li>Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making. </li></ul>
 Qualifications: <ul><li>Educational Background: Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. </li><li>Experience: Proven track record of at least 4 years in a data science role with a focus on Telco competitive intelligence products. </li><li>Strong experience in applying machine learning algorithms and statistical modelling in the Telco domain. </li><li>Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R. </li><li>Hands-on experience with relevant machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, PySpark) and data manipulation tools. </li><li>Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Telecommunications industry trends, challenges, and emerging technologies. </li><li>Familiarity with Telco-specific datasets and data sources. </li><li>Preferred Qualification: Experience with Location Intelligence, including geospatial analytics, GIS tools, and the application of location-based data in Telco products. </li><li>Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and business stakeholders. </li><li>Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical findings in a clear and understandable manner. </li></ul>
