As a Vehicle Technical Artist at CIG, you'll be part of a team creating high-fidelity vehicle assets for Star Citizen and Squadron 42.  Responsibilities include hands-on implementation, performance optimization, rigging, skinning, asset markup, and supporting the vehicle content team. You will work closely with art and programming teams, develop and improve pipelines using tools like 3DS Max, MaxScript, and Python, and investigate new techniques. The role involves bringing ships to life through animation and physics tuning, and ensuring assets are technically sound for use in the games.  CIG has a reputation for creating complex, characterful vehicles that are more like mini-game levels, and you'll be contributing to their already impressive library of nearly one hundred ships.

Senior backend developers are responsible for driving innovation, implementing best practices, and ensuring the reliability, security, scalability and performance of backend infrastructure and services.
 
Your Job Description
<ul>
<li>Generally assist the Corporation in development of software for interactive digital media experiences, including video games, mobile applications, mixed reality installations, theme park attractions, as well as their related backend systems.</li>
<li>Develop live operations software, testing tools, deployment systems, and other microservices for use in conjunction with the Corporation’s products and services.</li>
<li>Develop dashboards, operational controls, and other user interfaces for managing backend services, deployment, and monitoring.</li>
<li>Work closely with designers and other engineers to define, develop, and adjust these products.</li>
<li>Work directly with clients and be Hololabs’ technical point of contact and subject matter expert liaising with both technical and leadership teams.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Design sustainable APIs and proactively maintain and manage their life cycles.</li>
<li>Help to manage DevOps systems, including software interoperability and continuous integration.</li>

The studio spends about half of its time / team on work-for-hire projects that are typically interactive installations, themed entertainment projects, or AR/VR apps for clients. The remaining time is devoted to internal video game and entertainment projects.&nbsp;
 
Our most recent game, <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://skyhaven.app/">Sky Haven</a>, is a location-based mobile puzzle game that mixes mechanics from games like Pokémon GO with merge games like Merge Mansion. It features our proprietary sky-based AR system, map navigation with our own database of playable POIs, and an engaging alternate reality narrative. Prior games include a kids game based on a book series called <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="http://wollstonecraft.com/">The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency</a>, and a breakdance battle game called <a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="http://floorkids.com/">Floor Kids</a>, which was developed in collaboration with infamous turntablist, Kid Koala, and superstar animator b-boy, JonJon.

While we support remote and hybrid employment, candidates willing to work at least periodically in our downtown office in Victoria, BC will be prioritized.
