WGTC: Freelance Writers

We Got This Covered is a global digital entertainment brand that covers a multitude of pop culture topics for up to 10+ million monthly readers. We’re currently seeking freelance writers to bolster our coverage. This is a fully remote and freelance position.

This is a great opportunity to cover breaking entertainment news as well as the franchises you love (and some you'll come to love). Applicants should be motivated self-starters with an attention to detail. We’re a global, digital news room filled with passionate and dedicated team members.

Please provide a portfolio or writing samples, and a resume detailing your previous work experience. Let us know if you're an expert in any particular beats!

Beats we'd like help covering:

• Reality TV
• Celebrities
• Politics
• Royals
• Netflix/Streaming Content

Responsibilities:

• Help cover movie, TV, and internet news
• Submit clean copy with minimal edits
• Meet deadlines for publishing stories
• Follow trending topics through Google Trends and social media
• Write about a variety of topics for the site

Qualifications:

• 1-2+ years of editorial/journalistic experience, specifically focused on entertainment
• Fluency in English and excellent writing skills
• Knowledge of SEO practices, WordPress, and Trello

Compensation ranges from $16-90 per article depending on word count. Rates may vary, depending on location, for international candidates.
