What You Will Do

The Senior Producer, 20th Century Games leads a product development team of multiple producers for the product development of a complete slate of gaming titles across 20th Century Franchises from concept to release! This includes (but is not limited to) titles based on:

  • Film Franchises like Alien, Predator, AVP and Planet of the Apes
  • 20th Television Live Action Properties
  • 20th TV Animation Properties (Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill, etc)
  • ESPN
  • National Geographic

This person is directly responsible for specific titles, as well as leading a team of producers who, own products within The Walt Disney Company and managing the production process in support of the partner's vision. This includes partner onboarding and management, coordinating ideation, project tracking, managing product deliverables, overseeing milestone reviews, collaboration with other business units, production/content approvals, & management of live service support.

This production work entails:

Providing feedback on: 1)proposals, project schedules, and content roadmaps; game design, art and story, as well as 2) Franchise partners for games based on upcoming and existing 20th Century franchises and 3) Consolidating information on these projects to for the General Manager and executive staff.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting leader, who can draw upon a background as both a game maker and team mentor in order to:

  • Articulate feedback and clearly communicate information to external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Address opportunities and challenges in the production process
  • Manage a portfolio of games based on 20th Century Intellectual Property & multiple partner relationships.

You will be responsible for product quality across the slate of games led by themselves and their team, and maintaining relationships with internal and external cross functional groups to deliver high quality, /brand-enhancing products that meet franchise, financial and schedule goals.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8 years of proven experience specifically in product development/production of Console/Mobile/PC games or other entertainment.
  • 3 years of demonstrated ability leading teams.
  • Leads the internal production and approval process for 20th Century licensed games. This includes partner onboarding, deep dives into brands, and tracking and communicating all deliverables through the Disney approval processes.
  • Works closely with the General Manager to contribute to the design and refinement of the internal production process.
  • Has shipped multiple mobile, console, and/or PC games, some with live operations components.
  • A practical understanding of all phases of development: concept, pre-production, production and post-production/live-service with communicating e-game ideas and improvements to our partners.
  • Familiarity with premium and free-to-play business models
  • Ability to make confident, intelligent and difficult decisions that reflects a solid understanding of the business goals and strategies.
  • Previous experience collaborating with partners/developers/co-developers, understanding team structures and roles, production pipelines, and common challenges in producing high-quality interactive products.
  • Detail oriented and able to lead multiple projects at different stages of development.
  • Strong negotiation, change management, and conflict resolution skills and comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization with an emphasis on building consensus among multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of ownership, flexibility, and urgency.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA & Knowledge of Agile and Scrum, Kanban, and other production methodologies.
  • Passion for the latest games and game platforms (Mobile, Console, and PC) and demonstrate affinity and familiarity with 20th Century Franchises.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Additional Information

This role will require on-site support with external development partners with domestic and international travel.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $135,000 to $181,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
