Senior Director, Live Game Production

Job Summary:

Senior Director, Live Game Production will work with Next Gen Telecast team leads, internal staff, and remote production groups on planning, coordinating, and producing live NBA game broadcasts. Responsible for full scope of game production from pre-production through game and post-production. Ensures broadcast standards are met and shares best practices across internal and external groups. Serves as NBA liaison for live game producers. Oversees NBA game production support staff, game production budget, and overall game operations. Reports to Associate Vice President, Live Game Production.

Major Responsibilities:

• Oversees live game production teams in all aspects of production
• Works with internal and external partners on planning, graphics, ad sales and trafficking, engineering, and programming
• Responsible for overseeing live game coverage and ensuring highest quality broadcasts, meeting all creative, editorial, and technical broadcast standards
• Responsible for content quality and budget performance for remote productions
• Tracks and reports on production schedules and budgets
• Coordinate with Director, Live Game Production, content leads, and game producers on all content needs and editorial direction
• Drive improvements regarding in-game and broadcast presentation, and use of emerging technology
• Liaison with contracted and third-party vendors as needed
• Works with Next Gen Telecast leads to improve long-term enhancements of live game productions

Required Education/Professional Experience:

• Previous experience as live game Coordinating Producer
• Experience managing a large production staff
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sports television production as a live Producer, Director, or Executive/Coordinating Producer

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

• Demonstrated leadership in progressively complex live event production and proven ability to impact content
• High level of expertise producing live compelling sports broadcasts
• High level of sports production knowledge, specifically the NBA
• Deep knowledge of NBA storylines, current and historical
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of management experience and working in a highly matrixed environment
• Ability to work non-standard hours during sport season as necessary

Salary Range: [[$170,000 - $185,000]]
