Join Electronic Arts as a Junior Translation Technology Specialist. You'll analyze automatic translation output, identify improvement areas, and contribute to data preparation for translation technologies. Experience with AI translation, quality evaluation methodologies, and CAT tools is essential.

The Junior Translation Technology Specialist goal is to support the team in the automatic translation technology analysis in order to identify best practices on how to improve them to be able to implement them in the localization workflow.

Evaluating automatic translation output and identifying improvements, working on preparing data for different techniques of technology enhancement, working on prompts creation and maintenance of the existing ones to improve the output of a specific translation output.

Key Duties

The Junior Translation Technology Specialist will support the team in analysing the output of an automatic translation system and identifying improvements needed.

  • Automatic translation enhancement: You will h elp to conduct automatic translation usability tests testing results.
    • You will keep track of this feedback by categorizing it and come up with suggestion for techniques to improve the output.
    • You will help creating guidelines and documentation on best practices for automatic technology users.
    • You will support the team with data preparation for different translation technologies (MT training, RAGs for LLMs)
  • Automatic translation quality evaluation : You will create ad hoc evaluations with automatic score and analyse them.
    • You will analyze the scores produced by human and automatic evaluation and draw practical conclusions
    • You will ensure that the approach to quality is reached through team discussion and decision
  • Prompt Management: You will collaborate in prompt optimization and creation, by analysing output results and feedback from evaluators and identifying possible solutions, iterating them to keep improving according to the business needs.
  • Cross teamwork: You will actively participate in small cross-discipline collaborative efforts inside of their own domain.
  • Translation technology: In cooperation with the MT team, you will monitor the use of existing processes and provide feedback on areas of improvement

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Excellent English skills (both written and oral).
  • Experienced with AI translation technologies.
  • Experienced with the different quality evaluation methodologies of automatic translation.
  • Experience with CAT tools
  • Experience with prompting.

Experience Required

  • +1 years of experience working with machine translation or similar.
  • Exposure machine translation training and LLMs enhancement for translations.
  • Exposure to automatic scores for automatic translation quality evaluation
  • Experience with data visualization
  • Experience working across multiple departments and geographical locations.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment, and in international/multicultural organization.
