We are now looking for a Gameplay Programmer!

Are you a talented Gameplay Programmer looking to work on amazing co-op titles for PC and consoles? Are you willing to make the most important decision of your life? Join - the Helldivers! More specifically, the Helldivers 2 gameplay programming team. The successful candidate will support the development of new content and features in addition to maintaining our existing codebase. This is a live service title in the early stages of post-launch updates and we aim to support the title for many years before you would move onto any upcoming future titles.

Who you are:

Your role is positioned to develop and maintain gameplay features and systems. You will have a good sense of how to ‘find the fun’ day to day. You will work with our heavily customized version of the Stingray engine in C++ so experience with the ECS style programming patterns is a plus. You will need to be highly experienced in the development of game features and systems, particularly those relevant to multiplayer shooters. 

We want you to have: 

  • Excellent C/C++ skills
  • 5+ years hands on experience development multiplayer game features and systems
  • Ability to create dynamic systems that interact in an overlapping, emergent way
  • Familiarity with broad aspects of game development including gameplay, content creation, and systems
  • Familiarity with physics, animation, AI, and systems used to create emergent gameplay
  • Solid 3D math foundation in linear algebra, vectors, and matrices
  • You have shipped similar titles in a C++ based environment such as Unreal Engine or a custom engine
  • Live service development experience
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Bonus: An understanding of ECS patterns
What you'll do: 
  • Develop, extend and maintain game features and systems
  • Build optimized solutions with memory, performance, extensibility, and network stability taken into account
  • Prototype ideas - identifying technical possibilities and obstacles

          Practical information

          Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week with initial 6 month probation period.
          Location: Office first, hybrid solution possible. You need to be eligible to work in Sweden.

          We are a pet friendly office! You can expect to find dogs and occasionally some cats around.
