That’s where you come in!

Are you a game designer that lives and breathes Dungeons & Dragons?

We’re seeking an analytical, hardworking, and engaging Data Designer (Contract/Temporary) to join our team building the future of Dungeons & Dragons' digital play experience! This role will be part of our internal design team, digesting large interconnected feature sets into their constituent parts, filling out the data in Unreal, and writing documentation used in development and testing. Applicants should be enthusiastic about diving into the minutia of rules interactions, enjoy finding connections in game features, and ready to immerse themselves in the work of digitizing the world's greatest role-playing game.

What you'll do:

  • Master the Arcane: Collaborate with designers and developers to flesh out content, bringing a deep understanding of tabletop game rules.
  • Explore Dungeons: Build up and maintain detailed documentation for features, leaving no pathways unexplored.
  • Min-max Systems: Implement content using the systems that already exist while also planting seeds for future improvements.
  • Lead the Way: Own the integration of the content into our data format from initial breakdown of the rules to final testing. Help QA understand how these systems work and what they need to do to fully test them.
  • Join the Party: Regularly play the game, providing constructive feedback and suggestions to other members of the team.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven ability as a game maker in a professional capacity.
  • At least 1 completed professional project with responsibilities including programming, designing, or testing.
  • Deep knowledge of gameplay logic. Familiarity with data structures and general programming concepts.

  • Strong analytical skills and a love for efficient problem solving.
  • Positive, direct, collaborative communication to improve our shared vision.
  • Flexible, adaptable approach with a constant appetite for new knowledge and experiences.
  • Self-motivated, able to dig deep into a feature and find all of the hidden problems, but also knows when to ask for mentorship or help.

Bonus Modifiers:

  • Experience with Unreal game engines.
  • Ability to script and manipulate data with code.
  • Understanding of UX concepts and ability to build flow charts.
