Lead Software Engineer

Vendavo seeks a Lead Software Engineer with 10+ years experience in Node.js, Python, MySQL, and MongoDB to lead a team in designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable web applications. Strong experience in AWS services, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines is essential.

THE OPPORTUNITY <ul><li>Lead the team to design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and performant web applications using Node.js and Python with a focus on clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. </li><li>Supervise and mentor software engineers, become a go-to person for the product</li><li>Work with product owners to understand requirement and breakdown user-stories for better estimation and delivery</li><li>Build robust and secure APIs for data access and manipulation. </li><li>Work effectively with both MySQL and MongoDB databases, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each and has good SQL experience. </li><li>Utilize your working knowledge of Python to contribute to scripting or data analysis tasks. </li><li>Collaborate to integrate backend functionalities with React.js applications and be an SME</li><li>Leverage experience with various AWS services to deploy and manage applications in the cloud. </li><li>Implement Docker containers for application packaging and deployment. </li><li>Write unit tests to ensure code quality and maintainability. </li><li>Work effectively within an Agile development methodology. </li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments is a plus.</li><li>Perform Code Reviews and Design Reviews </li></ul>
THE SKILL SET <ul><li>10+ years of Experience as a Software Engineer</li><li>Tech-lead who has consistently demonstrated the capability to develop high level technical design.</li><li>Proven strong experience with Node.js .</li><li>Strong experience of working with MySQL, MongoDB</li><li>Strong experience with other front-end frameworks (e.g., React.js ).</li><li>Good working knowledge of Python. </li><li>Strong understanding of SQL query language.</li><li>Good experience working with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS). </li><li>Proficiency with Docker for containerization. </li><li>Deep experience writing unit tests using frameworks like Jest or Mocha and defining coding best practices</li><li>Strong experience in Backend &amp; Frontend Development </li><li>Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).</li><li>Familiarity with containers is a bonus (Docker, Kubernetes)</li><li>Strong experience with other front-end frameworks (e.g., React.js ).</li><li>Ability to understand new problem/business domains.</li><li>Good working exposure to agile development methodologies and scrum process would be an advantage.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams. </li></ul>
