We follow a problem statement and user experience driven approach to ensure the right data is available in the simplistic way for the scientific community. About The Role The job is based in Pune where you will as part of Springer Nature’s digital product development team. You’ll be part of our big community of developers located in Germany, UK and India, to name a few. We are on a quest to find a Senior Software Developer (SSE) to join our team and make the most of working in a fun environment while learning from the best. We are working with team who located at multiple locations in the globe. We want to build more understanding of the product, domain and technical expertise in the product. We are looking for Senior Software Developer who can work in ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS. Knowledge of Recoil/Redux, React Testing Library, Jest/Enzyme, Chakra UI, Component based architecture, D3 JS is a plus. We need a candidate who is proactive, self-driven and able to handle stakeholders in technical design, solutioning, implementation and release. Candidate should be able to build good rapport with stakeholders, should be proficient in English communication, both written and verbal. During your first six months, you will be expected to be flexible with work timings. You need to adjust working hours so that you have enough collaboration with UK/Europe stakeholders and / or teammates based on time zone. You will be joining a cross functional delivery team with different nationalities, backgrounds, and experience levels. All team members collaborate to deliver solutions that best satisfy the needs of our business and we are working to create a culture that encourages new ideas and innovation but within the boundaries of the technologies that best suit the vision that Springer Nature has defined. Role Responsibilities: Agile product team, day-to-day you will: Take part in our daily stand-ups. Contribute to ceremonies like planning/ IPM, showcase, collaborative design and retrospectives. Develop new features and improve code quality by pair programming/ pull request review with other team members. Build more and more domain, product, and business knowledge. Work with all stakeholders and manage the product delivery [Design to Release] Take part in support and monitoring of our web application. What You Will Be Doing Within 3 Months you will: <ul><li>Get familiar with our technology stack. Our application is built in React JS using TypeScript, Chakra UI, Recoil, CSS/SCSS.</li><li>Get to know the various Stakeholders and their general requirements.</li><li>Take part in reducing technical debt by working with team mates to add test coverage and improve code quality</li><li>Get to know all members of the team. </li></ul>
By 3-6 months you will: <ul><li>Have a basic understanding of the team’s context, product’s business model.</li><li>Build more knowledge of the product, domain and mentor new teammates.</li><li>On-board new team members and setup their machines and help them get up to speed fast.</li><li>Be able to understand and discuss business requirements with stakeholders and Product Managers and help other disciplines with these conversations.</li><li>Gain trust and confidence of project stakeholders.</li><li>Hold technical discussions with the team in order to improve the product architecture and code quality and build more understanding of the overall product. </li></ul>
By 6-12 months you will: <ul><li>Build solid understanding of the product’s business, domain and have a technical expertise to participate discussion for Design and architectural changes.</li><li>Onboard new members to the team or help other teams in the onboarding process.</li><li>Transform high level requirements into actionable work.</li><li>Work with global teams on plan, Design, implementation and release.</li><li>Build product features and help stakeholders to solve customer’s problem innovatively.</li><li>Be a supportive member of the tech team, developing the platform features by using the appropriate technology solutions to solve the problem at hand.</li><li>Proactively provide useful and actionable feedback to all team members and stakeholders.</li><li>Triage support queries and diagnose issues in the live applications.</li><li>Understand our customers’ needs, both internal and external, and how your work affects their experience. </li></ul>
About You <ul><li>Educational Qualification: B.Sc., BCA, BCS, B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc or a technology-related field or relevant experience</li><li>Need to have solid understanding of JavaScript, React JS, HTML/CSS.</li><li>Should have working experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, CSS. </li><li>You have senior level experience (6+ years) in front end development using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS or other UI technology/framework with at least 4+ year of hands-on experience with React JS.</li><li>Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.</li><li>Experience working with modern web framework.</li><li>Write quality code that is reliable and maintainable using industry best practices (e.g., style, security, testability, and efficiency).</li><li>Provide guidance to company stakeholders on upcoming challenges and participate in project planning.</li><li>Diagnose, debug, and optimize performance of web applications.</li><li>Having a good command of English is important; collaboration is important in our day-to-day work, so being able to communicate your ideas and understand others’ is key </li></ul>
