 AI Engineer (US/CAN) Fun Dog Studios is seeking an AI Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help create, manage, and evolve AI for an internally developed multiplayer shooter in Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate is an experienced AI Engineer for AAA games who enjoys developing cutting edge AI behaviors, combat, and interactions that will keep a co-op shooter audience on the edge of their seats. We would love to show you a bit more of the world of Forever Winter and speak to you about the role you would play in creating deeply engaging combat experiences that elevate our title beyond the content repetition and simple stats progression grind of contemporary titles. This is a full-time remote position.Responsibilities <ul><li>Design and implement AI systems and features</li><li>Author AI behaviors for in-game characters</li><li>Maintain and extend documentation on AI features and systems</li><li>Work with design team to create AI gyms and other methods of testing AI interaction</li><li>Profile and optimize code to meet memory, performance, and CPU budgets</li><li>Analyze feature requests for viability, design completeness, risks</li><li>Manage AI development tasks and updates, and coordinate with engineering management and production team to ensure smooth execution of our bi-weekly sprints</li></ul>
Requirements <ul><li>7+ years experience shipping titles as Gameplay or AI Engineer</li><li>Comfortable working directly with designers in an iterative environment</li><li>Solid understanding of different aspects of game AI (navigation, behavior trees, etc)</li><li>Strong Modern C++ development skills</li><li>Debugging and profiling skills</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Solid 3D math skills</li></ul>
Preferences <ul><li>Previous work on Co-Op Shooters a plus</li><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering</li><li>Unreal Engine 5 experience</li></ul>
