We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the delivery of Software Quality and Technology Quality strategies for our ARPG (Cliffhanger, Bioware, Motive) Lifestyle (Maxis, Full Circle) and Mobile studios.

You will report to the Head of Software Quality, ARPG, Lifestyle & Mobile QVS and be part of a dynamic team of leaders driving an important strategic pillar for EA. You will support a dynamic team of leaders supporting a diverse and global organization focused on ensuring that the quality of our titles exceeds our players’ expectations. Our team are integrated partners in the product development organizations, ensuring we meet the highest standards of Quality across every experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Software Quality and Technology strategies across multiple franchises, ensuring delivery and quality standards are met by all teams.
  • Be a thought leader and Partner with the franchises’ technical leadership teams in the definition and evangelization of Upstream Quality practices, with specific focus on defect prevention mechanisms and emphasis on test automation adoption early in the development process.
  • Champion a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by highlighting inefficiencies and leading programs to enhance processes and outputs.
  • Ensure the delivery of objectives across multiple disciplines (QA, QE, analytics) with focus on value for our Franchises and EA.
  • Be accountable for the identification, analysis, and resolution of risks within the Software Quality & Technology domains for the games in our portfolio.
  • Be a leader across EA Quality Verification globally partnering with other leaders to drive forward Software Quality practices and improvements

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of proven experience leading execution and delivery of complex software engineering projects in the space of digital entertainment.
  • Experience driving software quality development practices and passion for software quality and development best practices.
  • Have led global organizations and driven success through other leaders
  • Proven expertise in directing project execution with geographically distributed teams, adeptly navigating varied time zones and cultural dynamics.
  • Excel at being autonomous in synergy with the team's leadership mindset and expectations.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $160,200 - $229,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
